WBC Cries and Jesus Laughs!!!

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A federal jury on Wednesday awarded the father of a fallen Marine $2.9 million in compensatory damages after finding a fundamentalist Kansas church and three of its leaders liable for invasion of privacy and intent to inflict emotional distress for picketing the Marine's funeral in 2006.

The jury was to begin deliberating the size of punitive damages after receiving further instructions, although U.S. District Judge Richard Bennett noted the size of the compensatory award "far exceeds the net worth of the defendents," according to financial statements filed with the court.

Albert Snyder of York, Pa., sued the Westboro Baptist Church for unspecified monetary damages after members staged a demonstration at the March 2006 funeral of his son, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who was killed in Iraq. Church members routinely picket funerals of military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, carrying signs such as "Thank God for dead soldiers" and "God hates fags."

A number of states have passed laws regarding funeral protests, and Congress has passed a law prohibiting such protests at federal cemeteries, but the Maryland lawsuit is believed to be the first filed by the family of a fallen serviceman.

Snyder's suit named the church, its founder the Rev. Fred Phelps and his two daughters Shirley Phelps-Roper and Rebecca Phelps-Davis, 46. The jury began deliberating Tuesday after two days of testimony. The York, Pa. man claimed the protests intruded upon what should have been a private ceremony and sullied his memory of the event.

The church members testified they are following their religious beliefs by spreading the message that the deaths of soldiers are due to the nation's tolerance of homosexuality. Their attorneys argued in closing statements Tuesday that the burial was a public event and that even abhorrent points of view are protected by the First Amendment, which guarantees freedom of speech and religion. The judge said the church's financial statements that had been unsealed could be released to the plaintiffs.

State of Missouri = 1, Westboro Baptist Chuch = 0

(Washington, DC) - Judicial Watch, the public interest group promotes transparency, accountability and integrity in government, politics and the law, announced today that a U.S. District Court in Missouri denied a request by the American Civil Liberties Union lawyers made on behalf of a member of the Westboro Baptist Church to prevent the state from enforcing its statute limiting protests “in or about” the location of funeral services (Shirley L. Phelps-Roper v. Jeremiah W. Nixon, et al., No. 06-cv-4156-FJG). The ACLU filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the law on behalf of protesters who disrupted military funerals by picketing and conducting other protest activities.

The court order, issued by federal Judge Fernando J. Gaitan, Jr., essentially adopts Judicial Watch’s argument that Missouri’s “funeral protection law” is well-grounded in Eighth Circuit judicial precedent and is consistent with the U.S. Constitution. Moreover, Judge Gaitan specifically cites Judicial Watch’s amicus brief concerning the right of family members and friends of those killed in battle to mourn their loss. The judge writes: “…amicus Judicial Watch notes that Missouri also has an interest in protecting funeral attendees’ First Amendment rights to free exercise of religion.” Judge Gaitan ruled that the ACLU’s client failed to demonstrate a “likelihood of success on the merits” of her arguments. Her request for a preliminary injunction was, therefore, denied.

“We’re pleased the court seems to recognize the right of funeral attendees to mourn those who died defending our country without being disrupted by protesters,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “Unlike the ACLU, most Americans believe that mourners should be able to engage in quiet and reflective prayer at funerals. As the court noted, ‘…picketing soldiers’ funerals and belittling the sacrifices made by soldiers are intolerable actions’”

Aw man that means that the cult will have to stay away in and around a funeral. I guess they will have to pick another way to get their hateful spewing message out to us. By the way Shirley girl you need a makeover or something you are looking so OLD and your father well where is he? One could only hope that he is on his death bed and getting ready to head to the gates of HELL like everyone else in your "church" cult.

BearCiti is the new Bear Chat website

After reading a few peoples blogs about being rejected from Bear411.com I found out that there is a new bear website for bears to meet up and chat on. It is called Bearciti.com

Click here to read about http://bear411sucks.com/

People are pissed off about the billing and how Greg (The Webmaster) is being selective as to who he post on his website. I for one have never had any issues and have always found other guys on Bear411.com pretty nice. So I guess this is a wake up call about how we stereotype other people not only in the world but in our community as well. I think there is enough hate in the world already for us and that we do not need to help out others agenda's. I mean really. Think about this. Why is it that we as homosexuals are stereotypical of each other. Why do we as a community have to down each other and not get along. We should be working TOGETHER to help the agenda of OUR COMMUNITY not the agenda to help out one group or another. But we need to stand tall and tell the world that we are here and that we are going to work together to make sure that there will be not prejudice against anyone that is Bi, Gay, Transgender, or Lesbian.

So I issue this challenge to you all. Let's stand together as one not as a individual or a separate groups. But as ONE GLBT COMMUNITY!!!

COLTS WIN!!! COLTS WIN!!!

Peyton Manning finally has his championship and the monkey is finally off his back!

Manning threw for 247 yards and a touchdown, as the Colts rallied from the shock of an opening 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Devin Hester and an early eight-point deficit to beat the Chicago Bears, 29-17, in a turnover- laden Super Bowl XLI.

Condoms for me!!!!

I urge you to refuse sex without condoms to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. This epidemic is not over and just because we have all these drugs out there doesn't mean you can be promiscuous and have all the un-protected sex that you want and not worry about getting HIV/AIDS. I know that there are several men who say oh well he didn't ejaculate in me or he told me he was HIV- and I trust him. Trust me men will tell you anything that you want to hear so that they can get in your pants. Take it from someone that has heard it all and has several HIV+ friends. So I am asking that you use a little common sense when you play and use a condom!

Colts Vs. Bears

Well the stage is set and now the teams have a couple weeks to work on there A game for the Super Bowl.

The Indianapolis Colts
I was happy to see that Peyton Manning finally got the monkey off his back and for all of you who said Peyton will never make it well I guess he made a liar out of you!
Way to go Peyton and I am so glad I don't have to watch the stupid New England Patriots play in ANOTHER Superbowl. After failing in their two previous attempts against the Patriots in the playoffs, the Colts finally got past their rival -- but it wasn't easy. Indianapolis fell behind 21-3 in the first half and had to pull off the biggest comeback in championship game history to record a 38-34 win over New England and a trip to Super Bowl XLI. Joseph Addai scored the winning points on a 3-yard run with a minute left, the first time the Colts had the lead. Peyton Manning overcame first-half struggles to lead the rally, finishing with 349 yards passing. Tony Dungy's Colts will meet Lovie Smith's Bears in Super Bowl XLI, the first time black head coaches have made the Super Bowl.

Chicago Bears
Grossman was another one after a few bad weeks and being replaced by back up Quaterback Brian Griese because of poor playing he pulled out all the stops against the New Orleans Saints. The Chicago Bears completed their wire-to-wire run as the top team in the NFC with a convincing 39-14 win over the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game, earning Chicago its first trip to the Super Bowl since the 1985 season. At a cold and snowy Soldier Field, New Orleans turned the ball over four times, while Chicago didn't commit a turnover and had just one penalty. Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson paced the Bears offense, combining for 183 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Lovie Smith becomes the first black head coach to reach the Super Bowl, where he will met another African-American coach in the Colts' Tony Dungy.

It's Time To Take Control...Tell ABC that we want action!!!!

Larry Flick from Out Q in the Morning says:

Are you tired of being pushed around? Well, we are on my program. It's time to tell ABC-TV that you will not stand for the ongoing employment of a potentially violent homophobe. Demand that Isiah Washington be fired.

You can either call 818-460-7477 or go to ABC.com, scroll to the bottom and hit the "contact us" to email your displeasure with the way that this situation has been handled.

If you need help in writing your note, "I stand with Larry Flick and all of my friends on Sirius/OutQ radio in demanding that you take action against the homophia of Isiah Washington."

It's time to show that we're not push-overs anymore.

Democrats Set to Take Control of Congress

Democrats prepared to take control of both houses of Congress on Thursday after spending most of the last 12 years in the minority, with plans to quickly raise the minimum wage and toughen lobbying rules the Democrats will rock the house!!

The Democratic takeover arrives with congressional leaders and President Bush stressing bipartisanship however, with indications emerging of the partisan fights to come.

Representative Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, is slated to become the new speaker of the House and the first woman to hold that post ever. Senator Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, is scheduled to take over as Senate majority leader.

So come on Democrats let's give them hell and get this nation back on the right track that it needs. Let's get the hell out of Iraq as soon as we can because GOD knows we went there because George W Bush is a IDIOT!! I will be so glad when we get to vote for a new President. I know it won't be anyone from the RED REPUBLICAN PARTY. Because their party is pissed off just as much as the Democrats.

NJ Officials Warned They Risk Prosecution For Refusing Gay Civil Unions

Mayors and judges across New Jersey are being warned by both the state and a professional organization that they could be prosecuted if they refuse conduct civil union ceremonies for same-sex couples. Under New Jersey's Law Against Discrimination any official who performs ceremonies for opposite-sex couples but refuses to conduct civil unions could be removed from office and subjected to fines beginning at $10,000 for the first offense. WOW. Can you believe that if you don't marry someone that you could be fined!!! I think this is a big step forward in getting people to realize that gays and lesbians are wanting to have ceremonies.
